About Us

Pretty Chic Travel is an online travel and style resource for smart and fashionable women who love to travel. Covering everything from travel trends, news and destinations to travel-friendly beauty and fashion, we’re your one-stop shop for trip planning — be it a week-long vacation, girlfriend getaway, honeymoon or spa retreat. From cheap and cheerful fashion finds to dreamy luxury resorts, we cover the aspirational to the attainable — as long as it passes our style criteria.

Founded by Stephanie Gray and Jennifer Weatherhead in 2009, the pair’s first trip together was a summer weekend in New York City with an itinerary that included a visit to The Met, shopping in the Meatpacking District and dinner at STK. Together they’ve also been to Argentina, Chicago, Antigua, Boston and Anguilla, but apart have managed to cover quite a bit of territory too. Both studied journalism and have written for a variety of major Canadian publications including Elle Canada, Weddingbells and Sweetspot. The two are also regular travel contributors to Dabble Magazine.

Favourite hotel?
I love the Montage Resort in Park City, Utah because it’s the perfect combination between luxury and coziness. I’m also partial to Gansevoort in the Meatpacking District. Besides the great location, they have the most comfortable beds — ever.

Favourite travel-friendly beauty product?
Dry shampoo spray. Currently Dove’s Refresh + Care is my go-to.

Favourite destination for shopping?
Buenos Aires for the best bang for your buck and Chicago for the Magnificent Mile.

Favourite destination to relax?
Maui is dreamy.

Strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I tried whale in Norway, but wasn’t too crazy about it.

Best meal you’ve ever had & where?
Save: Farm:Table in San Francisco was by far the best breakfast I’ve ever had, coffee included. Everything was beyond fresh.
Splurge: Stucki in Basel, Switzerland was the most decadent meal I’ve ever had. Seven courses, all paired with wine and dessert too. I think I gained five pounds after it.

No fail airplane outfit?
Definitely leggings either paired with a shirtdress or sweaterdress and a pair of ballet flats.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done on a trip?
I thought parasailing in Mexico looked like fun until I got up there. I was so petrified the entire time I just wanted it to end.

Favourite hotel?
The Como Shambhala in Bali is tucked away in the jungle, making it the most relaxing hotel I’ve ever been to. Then I love the One Aldwych in London because it has an amazing location, lots of art and fresh flowers in the rooms.

Favourite travel-friendly beauty product?
Nars blush stick in G-spot.

Favourite destination for shopping?
New York or London.

Favourite destination to relax?
Portugal. Even in Lisbon it’s so chill and laidback.

Strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I ate llahma and alpaca in Peru. I also think I ate something disgusting in Iceland, but I don’t know what it was.

Best meal you’ve ever had & where?
Drink: The best drink I had was a cocktail at a bar called Ruby in Copenhagen, it took forever for him to make it and it was really expensive, but it was worth every cent.
Eat: The gnocchi at the Four Seasons in Boston was amazing. I still think about it. It was so cheesy.

No fail airplane outfit?
In the summer a maxi dress and a cardigan or scarf. In the winter, it’s leggings, t-shirt, a scarf and loafers.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done on a trip?
Hiking up Wayna Piccu and getting vertigo at the very top. I cried.
